Ukrainian Style Pysanky Easter Eggs #2
This is for one dozen white eggs in multi-color designs.
Pysanky are created using melted wax that is drawn on to the surface of the egg with a stylus. The egg is dipped in multiple dye baths with layers of wax being added between each color. When the wax is melted off the egg, the finished design appears.
The shells have been emptied through a small hole on the bottom. I think the traditional method is to leave them raw, and eventually they dry out, but this would be problematic for shipping! I will be able to do a dozen white eggs, so you may want to auction them as two separate sets, brown ones and white ones.
Thanks so much Britta!
